SALES/DELIVERY DRIVER
Full Time

 

Odyssey Beerwerks, located in northwest metro Denver, is looking to add another team member to our crew. We’re looking for a hybrid Delivery/Salesperson, with a medium/long term goal of transitioning to a Full-Time sales role. Heading into our 10th year of operation, with lots of opportunity to expand our current customer base, we’re looking for someone to join our team ASAP.

 

DELIVERY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:

  • Delivering kegs and/or cases to bars, restaurants, and liquor stores
  • Picking up ingredients and supplies at local Denver area vendors. Requires loading and unloading of van
  • Exceed customer expectations of Odyssey Beerwerks and to create an emotional bond that reinforces the brand position and brand strategy
  • Primary delivery days will be Thursday and Friday, subject to change

SALES DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:

  • Building upon existing retail relationships
  • Establish new sales accounts
  • Account maintenance (beer delivery, payment pickup, merchandising, etc.)
  • Educate on and off-premise customers on Odyssey Beerwerks brand portfolio and company culture
  • Conduct beer tastings
  • Manage beer freshness program for area on- and off-premise accounts
  • Meet with sales team and leadership to establish sales plans, forecasts, and budgets
  • Assist with setup, serving, and breaking down at Beer Festivals (mostly weekends, as needed)

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Goal oriented, self-starter, well organized, detailed
  • Great people skills
  • At least one year sales/distribution experience within the beer industry (preferred)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Must be able to bend over, twist, kneel, etc., lift 55 pounds and maneuver 165 pounds repeatedly to waist height. This is a physically demanding job
  • Flexible schedule, including possible work some evenings and/or weekends
  • Ability to work well with a diverse group of co-workers, customers, and industry peers
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google suite of products
  • A passion for craft beer

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

  • This will be a hybrid hourly (delivery), plus base and commissions (sales) position, ranging from $17 – 20+/hr based on experience and performance
  • Unlimited PTO after 90 days
  • 2% brewery match on SimpleIRA contributions after 90 days

  • Take home beer and merchandise allowance

Successful candidates must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record, be able to lift/move kegs and cases of beer and have strong knowledge of the Denver metro craft beer customer base.

This position will include some evening and weekend work doing promotions and festival events. The position may occasionally include overnight travel for festivals and/or sales.

TAPROOM & EVENTS MANAGER
Full Time

 

Odyssey Beerwerks Brewery and Taproom, located in Arvada, Colorado, is seeking a TAPROOM & EVENTS MANAGER to join our team. This position will be an integral part of the management team while overseeing Taproom Operations, and will work with our Production, Sales, and Marketing managers. Applicants must have prior front of house management experience and more than basic knowledge of beer styles and the brewing process. We’re looking for an experienced manager who brings fresh ideas and excels at training and developing Beertender staff.

Founded in 2013, Odyssey Beerwerks offers a wide variety of craft beer styles and is a community-focused brewery with a large taproom, frequent events, a loyal following, and tremendous potential to expand our taproom audience. The Taproom Manager will have an immediate impact on the success of Odyssey Beerwerks, with tons of room for growth.

 

TAPROOM MANAGER RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage and supervise Beertender staff including hiring, developing and implementing staff training programs, motivating, scheduling, and leading monthly FOH team meetings
  • Create and uphold taproom standard operating procedures (SOPs) to maintain a professional, clean, and friendly taproom
  • Manage all day-to-day taproom functions and engage with other departments to ensure operations run smoothly
  • Create and manage all events in the Taproom, working with Marketing for promotion, including special events, music/bands, beer releases, recurring events, food trucks, etc.
  • Attend weekly management planning meetings
  • Monitor and report taproom sales and trends
  • Estimate and communicate beer volume required for taproom sales to Brewing Operations
  • Beertend 2 shifts weekly
  • Engage with customers, address, and resolve customer complaints/concerns
  • Work with Brewery Operations to oversee bi-weekly cleaning of taproom draft lines
  • Manage inventory of taproom supplies, merchandise, non-alcoholic beverages, and snacks
  • Occasional work on weekends
  • Other duties as assigned

TAPROOM MANAGER REQUIREMENTS

  • Experienced in front of house management
  • Working knowledge of craft beer styles, including origins and flavor profiles
  • Friendly, with a professional attitude
  • Work well with a team, communicate effectively, and lead by example
  • Work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills
  • Basic Google Suite and MS Office knowledge, and experience with point-of-sale systems
  • Must be 21 or older
  • TIPS Certification preferred

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

  • $40,000-$60,000/year depending on experience, including salary, tips, and bonus opportunities.
  • Unlimited PTO after 90 days
  • 2% brewery match on SimpleIRA contributions after 90 days

SCHEDULE:

  • Full Time, 40+ hours a week
  • At least two (2) Beertender shifts a week

CELLAR/PACKAGING/BREWERS ASSISTANT
Full Time

 

Odyssey Beerwerks, located in northwest metro Denver, is seeking a full time Brewers Assistant (or some other, more glamorous title to be agreed upon). Heading into our 10th year of operation, with lots of brewing, cellar work, packaging, and maybe even some delivery work, we’re looking for someone to join our team ASAP. This position will be involved in all aspects of brewery operations and will report directly to the Head Brewer.
 

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:

  • Packaging work, including kegging and canning
  • Cleaning/sanitizing: tanks, packaging equipment, and other work areas
  • Fermentation monitoring, yeast propagation, and lab work
  • Detailed, accurate record keeping
  • Brewing, as directed by Head Brewer
  • Delivery work, time permitting
  • Having a good time! This includes participation in choice of music to be played in the brewery, “sampling” beer, laughing at jokes and witty observations/comments, and contributing witty comments/observations
  • …Oh, did we mention cleaning? Lots of cleaning

EXPECTATIONS OF QUALFIED CANDIDATES:

  • Self-motivated, creative problem solver with excellent time management skills
  • Able to work effectively with multiple tasks and adjust to changing priorities
  • Detail-oriented
  • Flexible schedule requirements, including occasional evening and/or weekend work
  • Able to frequently lift to 75 pounds and move 165 pounds
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Must be at least 21 years of age or older
  • Valid drivers license and clean MVR and safe driving record
  • Great sense of humor, appreciation for a variety of music, and sense of fun
  • A passion for craft beer (duh)

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 1 – 2 years of related experience in the brewing industry
  • Understanding of the fundamentals of Brewing Science
  • Experience with canning line operation, maintenance, and repair
  • Strong communication skills
  • Laboratory knowledge
  • A deep-rooted appreciation for sarcasm

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

  • $17 – 19/hr – adjusted based on experience and performance
